NDA 2020 Eligibility
Highlights of NDA Eligibility Criteria 2020
To be eligible, candidates must fulfill the following NDA eligibility criteria:
NDA Eligibility Criteria 2020 – Nationality
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Bhutan, or
(iii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Note: Candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) must have a certificate of eligibility in their favor issued by the Government of India. However, candidates hailing from the Gorkha region of Nepal will not require a certificate of eligibility.
NDA Eligibility Criteria 2020 – Age Limit
Candidates born not earlier than July 2, 2000, and not later than July 1, 2003. The date of birth should match the date recorded in the matriculation or higher secondary examination certificate.
Minimum Age: 16.5 years
Maximum Age: 19.5 years
Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for NDA examination.
Eligibility Criteria of NDA 2020 – Educational Qualification
For Army Wing of National Defence Academy – Candidates applying for admission to the Army wing of National Defence Academy should have passed Class 12.
For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy – The candidates must have passed class 12 with Physics and Mathematics conducted by State Education Board/ University. Candidates appearing in Class 12 or equivalent examination are also eligible to apply for NDA 2020. However, those appearing/ passing class 11 exams are not eligible for the exam.
Physical Standards
In order to be eligible for the posts, candidates must be physically and mentally fit. Those who have resigned or withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any training academies of armed forces are not eligible for the examination. In accordance with NDA eligibility criteria 2020, the height and weight requirements for Army and Air Force have been provided in the tables below.
