ISTC Exam, Its Eligibility Criteria & Selection Process
Here’s everything you need to know about the Indo-Swiss Training Centre Entrance Exam. You can also speak to our counsellors if you wish to know more or address any doubt about the ISTC exam.
To gain admission into the Indo-Swiss Training Center, students are required to clear the ISTC entrance exam. After clearing the exam, students can earn a diploma in the course of their preference. At Indo-Swiss Training Center, emphasis is laid on practical work rather than just theoretical knowledge. Owing to this reason, many notable companies visit the ISTC campus regularly to hire the best talent.
Indo-Swiss Training Centre (ISTC) was established in the year 1963 in collaboration with the Swiss Foundation for Technical Assistance, Switzerland. ISTC was formally inaugurated on 18 December 1963 by the first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. It is run under the aegis of Central Scientific Instruments Organization (CSIO), Chandigarh, a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi.
Educational Qualification
Aspiring candidates should have passed, appeared, or are appearing in Matriculation examination with Mathematics, Science, and English as subjects from the State Board/Central Board i.e. CBSE, ICSE/National Open Schools.
Age Limits
Students should have been born on or after 1 August 2001. (1 August 1998 for SC/ST candidates).
The test will comprise of questions in Mathematics, Science, Aptitude, English and General Knowledge. The syllabus for the entrance test will be of CBSE 10th class standard or equivalent.
The final merit list is prepared based on the performance/marks of the ISTC entrance exam. Allocation of course will be on the basis of this merit list. When the seats in a particular course are filled, the remaining candidates will have to choose the course the seats for which are available.
The cut-off marks in the ISTC entrance exam for admission are 35% for General, 31.50% for OBC, and 20% for reserved categories (SC/ST/PH).
